Privacy Policy

Relationship1 takes a very conservative view of privacy, insisting client customer information should be collected wherever possible on an opt-in basis with control over the maintenance, use, and dissemination of such information transparently determined between the brand and its customers. Relationship1 is a member of the Direct Marketing Association and fully subscribes to and complies with the DMA’s Customer Privacy Promise.

To meet that Privacy Promise, Relationship1 complies with the following principles:

  • We only collect customer information that our clients voluntarily and knowingly provide us.
  • We use the information provided to us only for the purpose(s) for which we received specific prior consent from our clients.
  • We do not share any information provided us with anyone outside of our clients or their customers with the exception of third parties specifically authorized by our clients and communicated to its customers.
  • We employ appropriate security measures to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of any information provided us.

Relationship1 take a very aggressive approach to protect the privacy of our client’s customer information. Relationship1 maintains strict confidentiality for our clients’ data and marketing plans. Data is seeded to prevent misuse and access to all data and materials is restricted to only those Relationship1 employees with authority to access such data. Relationship1 provides legal written representations as to the confidentiality provisions and the ownership of this information by each client. We enter into these confidentiality agreements with our employees, vendors and clients and use our best efforts to limit access to and distribution of private and proprietary information.

Relationship1 is committed to maintaining the highest possible standards of data security. On that basis our client’s have outsourced their customer and transaction history with us in order to ensure that it is kept secure, confidential, and recoverable at all times. We have implemented key standards of best practice in online and data security, including the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. We take an active role in the overall preserving of data integrity and security by ensuring the security of our IT systems, personnel and infrastructure through periodic internal and external audits.

The R1 staff is trained in all aspects of web application security, including infrastructure vulnerabilities, cross-site scripting, secure data storage, and using the software development life cycle to maintain and improve security. Our service platform is hosted in Relationship1’s data center with on-site security and surveillance. All components reside behind multiple firewalls, anti-virus software, password protection, and all services are monitored 24/7/365. We perform frequent data backups and security testing. All data is encrypted when sending over network resources (VPN tunnels utilize PPTP, L2TP, and IPSEC encryption for all communications).

At our data center, rigorous physical, electronic, and personnel security measures protect data. Once on our systems, data is encrypted and securely stored in our dedicated facilities. Our servers and network infrastructure are owned and used solely by Relationship1 and not shared with any other company or industry.

Relationship1 employs every technique and process available to ensure that consumers and businesses that do not want to be direct marketed are not marketed, including R1 Suppression of Do Not Mail from all clients; Client Suppression of Do Not Mail from their customers; and the Direct Marketing Association’s Mail Preference Service Suppression, Telephone Preference Service Suppression, and E-Mail Preference Service Suppression based on consumers who have registered nationally not to be marketed by these media. In addition, Relationship1 maintains unsubscribe links on all websites and email under its management so that the customers name, address, and email address can be removed immediately upon request.
